David Salinger is a certified member of the International Association of Trichologists and a Vice-President and registered member of the Institute of Trichologists (UK). He obtained an honours degree in Business Studies from the University of Birmingham, England, and a graduate degree in Human Relations at the London School of Economics before studying in London to become a qualified trichologist. |

During 1974-75 he worked at the University of California as the subject matter expert in developing the first educational program in hair and scalp diseases in North America. During the same period he worked as a consultant at the research facilities of Redken Laboratories Inc. In 1975 he became Executive Director of the International Association of Trichologists and has spent the time since then training students in the speciality of trichology throughout North America, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore and South Africa. He now resides in Adelaide, South Australia, and consults at the Australian Trichology Centres in Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide. He was the first person to use the amino acid 'tyrosine' in the treatment of such auto-immune problems as alopecia areata, psoriasis and folliculitits decalvans. |

Mr Salinger authored the books 'The IAT Guide to Hair Loss' and 'Picture Guide to Scalp and Hair Problems'. These books are used in colleges in several countries. |
