Trichology Education Program by Correspondence

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF THE COURSE

The student is expected to complete the entire written part of the course within two years but can complete it more quickly .

At the end of most modules, a test is completed which is returned to the course administrator for assessment.

Eight hundred hours of study will enable most students to complete the written part of the course. An additional one hundred hours of clinical training must also be undertaken, either during or after the theoretical part of the course, under the supervision of a certified trichologist with at least three years of full-time clinical experience and meeting the requirements of the I.A.T. The cost of this clinical training is not included in the cost of the course. The present cost is $ 2,000 (US) for the one hundred hours of clinical training.

At the completion of all practical and theoretical work, a written examination will be administered under supervision. A diploma of certification will be awarded to those students passing the final exam. Certified Trichologists of the International Association of Trichologists may use the letters "I.A.T." after their name and may use the "Certified Trichologist" logo.

Student’s ability to exit and re-enter the course is not restricted by the structure of the course. Those students who complete individual modules can obtain a statement of academic record if requested.

Employment openings for certified trichologists will be advertised in the I.A.T. newsletter. Most trichologists work for themselves and it must be realised that it takes time to build up a successful practice.
